New Delhi: The weapons used in the murder of Singer Sidhu Moose Wala were supplied to shooters from across the border, sources told news agency IANS on Tuesday. After Canada, the strings of this high-profile murder are now being linked to Pakistan as well. The Special Cell of Delhi Police has recently arrested three people, including two shooters, from Kutch, Gujarat in connection with the murder of Moose Wala.
The accused have been identified as Priyavrat alias Fauji (26), a resident of Sonipat in Haryana, Kashish alias Kuldeep (24) of Jhajjar district of the state and Keshav Kumar (29), a resident of Bathinda in Punjab.
During the preliminary interrogation of the accused Priyavrat, it was revealed that he got the consignment of weapons from Pakistan. "Usage of drones in dropping the weapons have come to the fore," sources told IANS.
A senior Delhi police official during the media instructions on Monday had informed that the police on the occasion of captured shooters recuperated a huge cache of arms and ammunition. The Special Cell team arrested him on June 19. The Special Cell has received 8 High Explosive Grenades along with an Under Barrel Grenade Launcher on the target of the shooters. This grenade launcher can also be mounted on the AK-47. 9 electronic detonators are mated with one assault rifle with 20 rounds. Apart from this, 3 pistols and 36 rounds of bullets have been found. He had kept these weapons hidden in a village in Haryana.
Sidhu Muse Wala, who had joined Congress in December last year, was gunned down by unidentified assailants on May 29 in Punjab's Mansa by unidentified assailants on the middle of the road. The incident happened a day after the Punjab Police cut their security along with 424 others. Police have recovered 30 empty cartridges of bullets from the spot. The attackers were allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
