Man Sleeping On Mumbai's Versova Beach Run Over By SUV

Two friends were sleeping on a beach in Mumbai's Versova when a white SUV ran over one of them and crushed him to death.

Mumbai News: The Versova police in Mumbai arrested two persons in connection with the death of a 36-year-old rickshaw driver who was crushed to death by an SUV car on August 12, Monday. The victim was identified as Ganesh Yadav. He and his friend Bablu Srivastava were reportedly sleeping near the beach. 

While the two were sleeping, a white SUV ran over Ganesh and crushed him to death. The two accused, identified as Nikhil Jawale, 34, and his friend Shubam Dongre, 33, have been arrested, and a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been registered against them.

Following the accident, the two accused got out of the car and tried to lift Ganesh, but he did not respond, after which they fled the scene. Upon receiving information about the incident, Versova police arrived at the scene and rushed Ganesh to Cooper Hospital for treatment.

Police said that the two accused were presented before a local court in Andheri and sent to five days of police custody for further investigation. A senior police officer said that the driver and his friend were arrested within a few hours of committing the crime. Ganesh Yadav's friend, Bablu Srivastava, who narrowly escaped the incident, is in a state of mental shock.
