Delhi: Woman's Body Bearing Stragulation Marks Found In Bag In Shahdara District

The Delhi police found the strangulated body of a woman in a sack, who was later identified as a resident of the NSA colony.

The lifeless body of a 23-year-old woman, bearing signs of strangulation, was discovered inside a bag at a residence in east Delhi's Shahdara area on Sunday. The police responded to a PCR call received around 4.45 pm, reporting a suspicious bag found at a house near the Vishwash Nagar area in Shahdara, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Rohit Meena, news agency PTI reported.

A prompt deployment of a team from the Farsh Bazaar police station, accompanied by a forensics team, reached the location. Upon inspecting the bag, the police found the strangled body of a woman. DCP Meena confirmed, "We have identified the body, and the age of the victim is 23 years. We have got strong leads about the suspect", as per PTI.

Sources within the police indicated that the victim had recently become engaged, PTI reported. The prime suspect in her death is believed to be her fiance, who is currently absconding. The body was allegedly found at his residence. Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was strangled, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Further details will be disclosed once the autopsy report is available.

DCP Meena stated, "An FIR has been registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code, and multiple teams have been formed to nab the accused." The police are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the suspect in connection with the tragic incident.

Delhi Crime: Teen Stabs Another 55 Times

In another incident, Delhi investigators released CCTV visuals showing a teenage boy allegedly celebrating and dancing after brutally stabbing another teenager over 50 times during a street robbery. The assailant, a 16-year-old, was captured on camera dragging the victim's body into an alleyway, repeatedly stabbing the victim in the neck, kicking the head multiple times, and concluding the gruesome act with a macabre dance, news agency IANS reported.

The incident took place in Janta Mazdoor Colony in northeast Delhi's Welcome at around 11:15 p.m. The victim, a young boy, was stabbed to death, and the assailant was subsequently apprehended during the police probe. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey provided insights into the investigation, revealing, "The boy first choked the victim, and when he fell unconscious, the accused stabbed him multiple times before robbing him of his money, about Rs 350", as quoted by IANS.
