New Delhi: Police on Thursday said it will urge a Delhi court to consider a recent crime incident, where a 16-year-old boy stabbed another teen 55 times and dragged his body through the street, in the “rarest of rare” category, news agency PTI reported.
According to police, the accused, who was apparently in a inebriated state, approached the victim to buy him biryani. When the latter refused, he stabbed him 55 times, slit his throat and dragged his body through the street.
A CCTV footage of the incident showed the accused dancing as he went on a stabbing spree.
“We have already recovered the weapon used for murder. We are investigating from where he procured the knife. He was seen dancing while doing the gruesome act. A person tried to open a door to see what was happening, but the accused threatened him by brandishing a knife,” PTI quoted a police official as saying.
