Where is Badlapur?
The name Badlapur is often confused with the title of Bollywood movie 'Badlapur', which was released in 2005. However, Badlapur is a city in Maharashtra. The city is located in the Thane district of the state, close to Mumbai. Badlapur is around 50 km drive from Mumbai and is part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

Title Of Popular Film
Badlapur is also the title of a popular 2005 movie directed by Sriram Raghavan and starring Varun Dhawan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The movie is based on the novel Death's Dark Abyss by Italian writer Massimo Carlotto and also stars Huma Qureshi and Yami Gautam.
The film was largely based on revenge- 'badla' where Varun Dhawan undergoes transition, leading to 'badlav.'
The movie Badlapur is not based on the Badlapur city, but it's rather a revenge story where the title is metaphorical.
