UP: FIR Against Prayagraj Hospital Doctors For Assaulting Patient's Relatives. Video Viral
Three doctors at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Prayagraj allegedly thrashed a patient's relatives. The police are now identifying the doctors based on a viral video.
Prayagraj News: A criminal case has been registered against three doctors at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Prayagraj for allegedly assaulting the relatives of a woman patient. The FIR was registered at the Kotwali police station against three 'unknown doctors' accused of assaulting an elderly woman, named Kunnu Devi, and her family members.
No one was named in the FIR. The case was registered against the accused doctors under sections 115 (2), 352, 75 and 76 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. After registering the case, the police started their investigation.
The accused doctors are being identified on the basis of the viral video. According to the FIR, the elderly woman from Banda, Kunnu Devi, had gone to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital on Monday, September 2, to get her daughter-in-law Suman treated. Around 7 PM, while showing the investigation report in ward number 12, an altercation took place. This quickly turned into a full-scale fight and the doctors, during which the doctors allegedly thrashed her son.

How The Fight At Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital Started
The elderly woman and her nephew were also allegedly beaten up when they tried to intervene. Besides, the woman alleged that the doctors misbehaved with her. The case was registered after the video of the entire incident went viral on social media. The viral video shows multiple people, presumably the accused doctors, beating up Kunnu Devi's son. Police say that appropriate action will be taken in the matter after investigation.
On the other hand, the medical college administration has also constituted an inquiry panel to probe the matter, the principal of the medical college, Vatsala Mishra, said. "An appropriate decision will be made on the basis of the committee's investigation report. Apart from this, it will also be ensured that such incidents do not happen again in the hospital," Mishra said.
