Three people died and two were injured on Friday morning after their SUV overturned following a tyre burst on a highway in the Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh, according to police.
As per the report by PTI, the police official said the incident occurred near Chandrapur village on National Highway 43 when the victims were en route to Ambikapur from Manendragarh after attending a wedding.
The primary information revealed that the SUV was running at a high speed when it experienced a tyre burst and overturned. Out of three dead, two were women. The trio was identified as Anand Chaudhary (28), a resident of Jharsuguda in neighbouring Odisha, Pushpa Manjhi (40) of Korba and Rita Chaudhary (46) of Ambikapur, he said.
Other victims who sustained serious injuries during the incident were identified as Ajay Nath Chaudhary (38) and his son Aniket (10). They were rushed to a hospital in Surajpur, from where they were referred to a medical college hospital in Ambikapur for further treatment, police added.
Police further added that an investigation into the matter is still in process.
Two Die After Vehicle Plunges Into Gorge In J&K’s Kishtwar
Two people died and 14 were injured after a vehicle carrying workers of a private company skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, officials said.
As per the report by news agency PTI, officials confirmed that the accident took place near Dangduru while the workers of an under-construction power project were returning in a mini-bus from the dam site.
Soon after the accident, a rescue operation was launched. Till now, two bodies have been retrieved while the others were rushed to a hospital.
Expressing grief over the accident, Minister Jitendra Singh assured all required help to the affected people. “Just now spoke to DC (Deputy Commissioner) Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavan after receiving the news of an unfortunate accident of cruiser in Dandaru area. Two casualties reported. More updates awaited. Meanwhile, rescue operation has started. My office is in constant touch. All required help will be provided,” the minister wrote on X.
