Mumbai police have summoned Maharashtra BJP leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya in connection with the FIR filed against Marathi Muslim Seva Sangh. Somaiya has been summoned by Azad Maidan Police on Saturday at 3:30 pm in connection with the FIR filed by the Election Commission of India.
During the Maharashtra assembly polls last month, the BJP leader levelled allegations regarding the misuse of Hindu youths' bank accounts to fund what he claimed is a "vote jihad" operation.
He filed a complaint about the matter with the Enforcement Directorate prompting the central agency to conduct searches at multiple locations in Maharashtra and Gujarat investigating suspicious financial transactions amounting to a staggering Rs 125 crore.
