A distressing incident at the Sonesta Melody Apartment in Balagere, Bengaluru, has sparked outrage after a puppy was run over by a car near the building’s entrance. The tragic moment, captured on CCTV, went viral on social media, drawing widespread condemnation.


Eyewitnesses and viewers of the footage criticised the driver for what they described as sheer negligence. The video showed the driver failing to stop or assist the injured puppy, prompting demands for accountability.


In response to the outcry, Bengaluru City Police have urged residents to provide specific details about the incident, including the exact location and vehicle information, to facilitate an investigation.

Animal rights activists and local residents have also raised concerns over the lack of empathy shown by the driver and called for stricter measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

The footage shows the agitated driver stepping out of his vehicle, shouting at the rider, and momentarily appearing to raise his hand as if to strike—though he ultimately refrains.
