Pune News: A 35-year-old man died after allegedly jumping off the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link at Atal Setu. The incident reportedly took place earlier this week on Monday (September 2) and the victim was identified the victim as Alex Regi, a resident of Maharashtra's Pune. 


Regi drove to the bridge, stopped his car at the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link and jumped off. His actions were captured in CCTV footage, Times Now reported quoting police. As per the report, the victim's family has flagged mental pressure from the workplace. Regi was an employee at of nationalised bank and was reportedly reeling under pressure at his workplace.


Meanwhile, police have retrieved Regi's dead body from the sea, but no suicide note was found among his belongings.

The latest incident comes weeks after a 56-year-old woman was rescued while she was trying to off the Atal Setu sea bridge, which connects Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The dramatic rescue operation was caught on CCTV cameras installed on the bridge and the video of the incident went viral on social media. 






The footage showed a cab driver holding the woman by her hair to stop her from jumping, while police quickly intervened and helped him to pull her up, preventing her suicide attempt. According to the police, the woman was identified as Reema Patel. She is a homemaker and a resident of Mulund. The police are now probing the incident to understand the reasons behind her actions. “We are trying to understand the problem that pushed her to take her own life,” police said.
