Mumbai: Four people were arrested after Mumbai Crime Branch's Unit 9 conducted a raid at the Gamdevi Dongri area of Andheri and recovered drugs worth lakhs of rupees from their possession. Following the arrest, the police paraded all the four arrested accused around the area and forced them to repeatedly shout, "We used to sell drugs, but from today we won't sell them anymore."


The visuals of this parade have gone viral on social media, with people lauding the police for taking this action against the drug peddlers. In the video, the accused can be seen walking down the narrow streets as they were paraded througout the area to confess their crime. They also acknowledged that they sold drugs in the area and caused damage to the generations to come. Even the local residents in the Gamdevi Dongri area welcomed this move with applause.






The arrested accused have been idenified as Aftab Beg, Mohammad Ayaan Hanif Sheikh, Arbaaz Karim Turki, and Sherbane Mohammad Hasim Siddiqui.


The crime branch officials had seized MD drugs from the four peddlers during the raid. The Gamdevi Dongri area is so congested area that even cars cannot enter. This makes it a perfect spot for such drug peddlers to operate without any fear. 


When senior police officer Daya Nayak of the Crime Branch Unit 9 received information about the drug racket in the area, he sent his team to raid the area. It was then that the police nabbed the four accused. An investigation into the matter is underway.
