Minor Girl Gangraped While Returning From School In Lucknow, Second Such Incident In A Month

Two boys allegedly stole the victim's bag and forcibly pulled her into their car. They then drove the minor to a hotel in Krishna Nagar, where she was sexually assaulted.

A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by two men in the Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh while she was returning from school.

The 14-year-old girl, a student of fifth standard, was allegedly kidnapped by two youths when she was returning from her school. The two accused took the girl to a hotel where she was raped.

The police have registered a case against two youths- Danish and Ameen, on the complaint of the father in Sarojini Nagar Police Station.

The two boys allegedly tried to snatch the girl's bag. When she resisted, they forced her to sit in the car, took her to a hotel in the Krishna Nagar area and gang-raped her, police said.

After raping her, the accused dropped the victim near her home. The victim then narrated her ordeal to the family after which the father informed the police of the incident.

The father also accused the culprits of taking photographs and recording videos of the victim and threatened her against speaking of the crime with anybody.

Krishna Nagar Assistant Police Commissioner (ACP) Vinay Kumar Dwivedi said that based on the victim's complaint, an FIR was lodged and an investigation is underway.

One of the accused has been taken into custody and is being interrogated, Dwivedi said. The police have also accessed the CCTV footage of the hotel and said that the investigation is ongoing in the case.

SBSP chief and cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajabhar said that strict action will be taken against the guilty in the incident.

Second Such Incident In A Month

In a similar incident, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by two men in the Uttar Pradesh capital earlier this month.

The incident happened in the Bakshi Ka Talab area while the girl was on her way to an eatery. The attackers also struck the victim's head with a brick.

The police had immediately registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and the SC/ST Act, and launched an investigation. One of the accused was also arrested immediately after the complaint was registered.
