Haryana Accident: A road accident in Haryana's Jind on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday claimed at least seven lives. Eight people were injured in the accident. The accident happened around 1 am on Hisar-Chandigarh National Highway when a truck hit a passenger van (Tata Magic) from behind. Due to the impact of the crash, the Tata Magic passenger van turned turtle and fell into a ditch. The passenger van, carrying devotees, was going from Haryana's Kurukshetra to Gogamedi in Rajasthan.


The truck was reportedly speeding. Its driver fled the spot after the accident. The vehicle has been seized.






According to ABP sources, 15 people from Mercheri village of Kurukshetra in Haryana were on the passenger van and were en route to the Gogamedi temple. The devotees left home on Monday evening. As the passenger van neared Bidharana village of Narwana, a truck loaded with logs hit it from behind on the stretch between Bidharana and Simla village on the Hisar-Chandigarh National Highway.

According to news website News Nation, locals gathered at the spot but were unable to rescue anyone immediately as it was pitch dark. They called the police who rushed to the spot. Seven ambulances had to be called to the spot to take the injured to hospital.


All the devotees were taken to Narwana Civil Hospital where doctors declared seven people dead. After primary treatment, the injured were referred from the Civil Hospital to Agroha Medical College.
