Meet Tejus Chauhan, Recently Appointed Regional Director Of International Court Of Arbitration

Chauhan will take charge from former Regional Director Abhinav Bhushan and will be based in Singapore. 

New Delhi: Lawyer Tejus Chauhan has been recently appointed as the Regional Director for South Asia in the International Court of Arbitration of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). With this appointment, Chauhan becomes the second Indian to bag the regional director post.

According to reports, Chauhan will take charge from former Regional Director Abhinav Bhushan and will be based in Singapore. 

The ICC has announced appointment of three new regional directors for the business development of arbitration and alternative dispute resolution in North Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East. 

The other two regional directors are Dania Fahs who will be based in Abu Dhabi for the Middle East, and Donna Huang in Shanghai for North Asia.

With over 45 million members in over 100 countries, ICC aims to strengthen international trade and commerce in order to promote and protect open markets for goods and services and the free flow of capital.

The major activities that the ICC undertakes are the establishment of rules, dispute resolution, and policy advocacy.

"Everything we do must be focused on serving parties and facilitating their engagement with the dispute resolution process so that dispute resolution process is aligned with their expectations," PTI quoted President of the ICC Court Claudia Salomon as saying.

Who Is Tejus Chauhan?

Tejus Chauhan is a lawyer by profession and has studied law in India. Prior to being appointed as Regional Director at ICC, Chauhan has worked with firms like PwC.

Chauhan has also worked on the promotion and business development of ICC Arbitration and ADR in India for a span of 3 years.
