SUGAR Cosmetics CEO Vineeta Singh Debunks Death Rumors
Singh's post garnered numerous user comments, including a response from the Mumbai police X (formerly Twitter) handle requesting she direct message them with additional information
SUGAR Cosmetics CEO Vineeta Singh shot down the ongoing rumours surrounding her demise, stating that despite taking various actions, such as reaching out to Meta and lodging complaints with the Mumbai police, false reports of her death persisted and are being circulated across online platforms. Posting on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, Singh discussed the emotional toll, mentioning that "the most challenging aspect" was witnessing her mother receiving calls from concerned individuals after reading reports of her supposed demise. She also shared screenshots of some of the stories circulating over the past few weeks that falsely indicated her death.
She wrote, “Been dealing with paid PR about my death & my arrest for 5 weeks. Ignored it at first, then reported to @Meta several times, filed @Mum_CyberPolice complaint but it’s not stopping. The hardest part is when folks panic & call my mom. Few of the posts are below. Any suggestions?”
Since the past few days, fake information regarding Singh’s death has been circulated on social media through some fake websites impersonating authentic websites.

Singh's post garnered numerous user comments, including a response from the Mumbai police X (formerly Twitter) handle requesting she direct message them with additional information. Singh promptly replied, expressing gratitude for their assistance.
One X user wrote, “This fooled me for a sec as well when I saw it first. Hope things sort out. I am sure you must be in touch with top level people at Meta. Let me know if you need any help! They are the only ones who can kill this at once.”
“Bringing those meta-image ads is very easy but cumbersome. For the websites, send a DMCA notice to the hosting provider. Most hosting providers reply within 24 hours and most of the time they suspend such accounts,” added another user.
“The cyberpolice in India try hard to support but aren't equipped enough to trace cybercrime much. Hope they manage to do something about this. Take care Vineeta!" remarked a third X user.
