Farmers across the country are eagerly waiting for the 13th instalment under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan). An amount of Rs 6,000 from the scheme gets credited into the bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme.
The benefit is provided in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each for every four-month period into the bank account of beneficiaries. Ahead of Diwali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 12th instalment of the financial benefit to eligible farmer families on October 17.
The prime minister distributed Rs 16,000 crore to the PM Kisan beneficiaries via Direct Benefit Transfer during the two-day PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022 event.

The scheme covering small and marginal farmers was implemented around 3.6 years ago. In order to take advantage of the central scheme you need to get the e-KYC done.
According to the DBT Agriculture Bihar website “It is mandatory for the beneficiaries to get eKYC done under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, otherwise they will be deprived of the benefits of the scheme.”
Check steps for e-KYC
Firstly, visit the PM Kisan website and click on the Kisan e-KYC link on the Farmers Corner.
There will be an option to fill in the Aadhaar number. A captcha code will appear which you have to enter. After that click on the search button and enter your registered mobile number.
After entering the mobile number, you will receive an OTP. Enter the OTP and click on submit for authorisation.
The central government has made e-KYC mandatory to take advantage of the scheme. Without e-KYC, the benefit of the scheme will not be available. Farmers can also complete e-KYC online after visiting the nearest CSC or Vasudha center. Here a fee of Rs 15 will have to be paid for doing e-KYC through biometric system.
