Rejected! The One Thing A Job Applicant Told Hiring Manager That Cost The Position

Recently, a job applicant shared his experience on social media platform X about being rejected by a recruiter, citing dissatisfaction with his behaviour towards the recruiter and hiring manager.

Job hunting can be challenging and often requires patience and resilience. Yet, an applicant's behaviour during an interview plays a pivotal role in influencing the organisation's decision regarding whether to proceed with their candidacy. This determination is primarily based on the responses and interactions between the applicant and the panellists.

Recently, a job applicant shared his experience on social media platform X about being rejected by a recruiter, citing dissatisfaction with his behaviour towards the recruiter and hiring manager. He shared a screenshot of the rejection mail, stating, “After weeks of consideration, we have decided to go with another candidate who is better suited to our needs at this time.”

“It was noted during your interviews you told both our recruiter and the hiring manager that "they wasted your time because they were late" and "you took time off from work just to hear a lowball offer and that we should have posted the salary range in the job description," We told you that we do this so people won't apply just for the money. After which you replied, "What money?" the email added.

This isn't the first instance where a job applicant has faced rejection due to factors unrelated to their skills or qualifications for the position. Since its posting, this post has generated over 10 million views, and several X users have come forward to share their opinions in the comment section. “I’ve applied at places in the past that stated full time in the job listing only to offer part-time. It was their way of getting people to apply. I’m right there with this guy, businesses are wasting people’s time instead of being honest and upfront,” wrote one of the users.

“If you don’t write the good salary, then there are very good chance that the relevant candidates who are most suitable for the job may never apply, and you may never get the right candidate,” wrote another user.
