Israeli Embassy Hosts Indian Business Leaders To Mark 30 Years Of Bilateral Ties
The session which witnessed the participation of top business leaders, industrialists and entrepreneurs focused on the growing business opportunities between both countries
New Delhi: The Embassy of Israel in India held a session that witnessed the participation of top business leaders, industrialists and entrepreneurs from both nations discussing potential areas of cooperation and scope for public-private partnerships. Ambassador of Israel to India HE Naor Gilon said, “It was also special because both nations are celebrating 30 years of friendship and bilateral relations. Israel and India are natural partners and both share an appetite for technological innovation.” Gilon noted that the session further strengthened the business and economic ties between both countries.
The event was held on Thursday last week in collaboration with The Economic Times India Leadership Council and The Israel Economic & Commercial Mission in the embassy.
While speaking at th event, Natasha Zangin, the head of the Economic and Commercial Mission at the Embassy of Israel in New Delhi, highlighted the emerging opportunities for trade collaborations and presented the goals and activities of the Mission that aims to promote, enhance and facilitate trade, investment and industrial R&D between both countries.
The session focused on the growing business opportunities between both the countries. The bilateral trade between the two nations touched over $6 billion in 2021.
Apart from dialogue and networking, the session also witnessed several Israeli and Indian speakers, who are high-level experts in the fields of technology and innovation share their knowledge. Some of these speakers joined the session virtually from Israel. They shared their thoughts and experiences about the Israeli ecosystem for innovation, Israel-India economic partnership and growth opportunities for Israeli companies in India.
In August, ambassador of Israel in India organised 'The 17th Everything About Water Expo 2022' in the capital city to strengthen the cooperation between Israel and India in the water sector. An Israeli pavilion showcased cutting-edge water technologies of eight leading Israeli water companies. High-level water experts from Israel took part in this event and shared their knowledge on the Israeli model of water management, policy regulations, water technologies, R&D implementation and the Israel-India water partnership.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Israeli counterpart Benny Gantz had held bilateral talks in July where the leaders discussed defence cooperation and the prevailing global and regional scenario. Marking 30 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries, India and Israel adopted a "vision statement" to pave the way for strengthening defence cooperation in the future.
