Flipkart Jobs: The newly created job roles will span various supply chain functions, including inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics coordination, and delivery services

Flipkart Jobs: E-commerce giant Flipkart announced on Wednesday its plans to create 1 lakh new jobs across India in preparation for the upcoming festival season sale, The Big Billion Days 2024. This significant hiring push aims to bolster the company's supply chain operations and support its massive sales event.

As part of its preparation, Flipkart has launched 11 new fulfilment centres (FCs) across nine cities, bringing the total number of such facilities to 83 nationwide. This expansion underscores the Walmart-owned firm's commitment to strengthening its operational capabilities during the festive season.

"Flipkart is dedicated to fostering socio-economic development by generating employment opportunities. The creation of over 1 lakh new jobs within our supply chain will not only enhance our operational efficiency but also empower local communities and contribute to economic growth during this year's festive season," the company said in a statement.

The newly created job roles will span various supply chain functions, including inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics coordination, and delivery services. These positions are primarily seasonal, designed to meet the surge in demand during the festival period.

To equip the new hires with the necessary skills, Flipkart has planned extensive skilling and training programmes leading up to The Big Billion Days sale. The company also highlighted its commitment to workplace diversity, with a focus on employing more women, individuals with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQAI+ community.

In addition to workforce expansion, Flipkart is leveraging cutting-edge technology to streamline supply chain operations. The company aims to optimise inventory management and improve product availability to meet the anticipated spike in consumer demand during the festival season.

The highly anticipated Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale is set to make a comeback in the coming months, bringing with it substantial discounts on a wide range of products, including electronics, home appliances, and more. This annual event, held in the latter half of the year, is known for offering incredible deals on items such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, televisions, air conditioners, and various other home essentials.
