Bakrid Holiday 2023: Banks To Be Closed On June 28, 29 For Eid Al Adha In All These States

Cities observing a bank holiday on June 28 for Eid-Al-Adha or Bakr Eid are Belapur, Jammu, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram

In observance of Bakrid or Eid-Al-Adha banks will remain closed on June 28 and June 29 in different states across the country. In June 2023, banks in various states will observe a total of 12 days of holidays, which includes all Sundays as well as the second and fourth Saturdays. It's important to note that bank holidays may vary depending on the state.

Cities observing a bank holiday on June 28 for Eid-Al-Adha or Bakrid are Belapur, Jammu, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram. Cities observing a bank holiday on June 29 for Eid-Al-Adha or Bakrid are New Delhi, Srinagar, Chandigarh, Imphal, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Agartala, Bengaluru, Aizawl, Panaji, Patna, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Ranchi, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Shillong, Shimla, Bhopal, Guwahati, Kanpur.

Throughout the month of June, banks will remain closed on various occasions to honour different festivities. These occasions include Y.M.A. Day/Raja Sankranti, Kang (Rathajatra)/Ratha Yatra, Kharchi Puja, Bakrid (Eid-Ul-Zuha), and Remna Ni.

Bank-related work will not pose any inconvenience to people as essential services like ATMs, cash deposits, online banking, and mobile banking will continue to operate during these holidays. 

Additionally, The RBI on May 19 announced the withdrawal of Rs 2000 denomination banknotes from circulation as part of its "Clean Note Policy." However, these notes will continue to be legal tender. All banks are providing deposit and/or exchange facilities for Rs 2000 banknotes until September 30, 2023.
