Rishi Sunak, the new UK Prime Minister, owns four cars including a modest Volkswagen Golf. The new UK prime minister will now be using a convoy of Land Rovers including the flagship Range Rover and the new Defender SUV.

Rishi Sunak himself is said to own only a Volkswagen Golf hatchback — a popular car in the UK in the mass market segment. However, his family also owns the Lexus and BMW along with a Land Rover. The Lexus and BMW are there at the family’s home in Santa Monica, California too.

For going around London, Rishi Sunak used a Volkswagen Golf which is fairly modest amongst the other cars his family has. His Golf is perfectly sized for London use and it is a pre-2019 car. In the UK, the Volkswagen Golf is one of the best-selling cars being a premium hatchback.

Now that he is the UK prime minister, his new car is the ultra-luxurious Range Rover Sentinal which is like a fortress on wheels. It is an armoured variant built by Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations and features the latest in occupant protection including armoured glass, roof blast protection and an emergency escape system.

The car has more than one tonne of armour plate and glass while the engine is a 380PS 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 petrol. It also has specially manufactured wheels which have a run-flat system so the vehicle can be driven over distances of more than 50km at speeds of 80km/h even if a tyre is damaged.

The new UK PM has also been spotted in other Government cars including a Jaguar XJL- also the Sentinel version which brings in armour protection and other features. The other car he has been seen using is a Land Rover Discovery.
