Mahindra has revealed the name as well as the design of its upcoming 5 door SUV and it is called the Thar ROXX. It is an interesting name and not quite the name everyone was thinking in being Armada. Mahindra has also revealed the design and few of the details of the Thar ROXX as well with having different alloy wheels as well as a slightly altered front end along with the extension at the side to accommodate extra doors of course.

The grille for example gets a different slot design and now gets round LED projector headlamps along with DRLs. We can expect bigger alloy wheels with a diamond cut finish plus different colours too. Inside, the Thar ROXX will get a different interior when compared to the 3 door with dual 10.25 inch screens including a full digital instrument cluster plus even a panoramic sunroof along with a 360 degree plus Level 2 ADAS.

With the teaser you can see how the extra doors have been added in and the location of the rear door handle. In terms of the powertrains the Thar ROXX will share it with the 3 door plus also getting a RWD variant at a cheaper price including with a smaller 1.5l diesel engine.

This means the starting price would be lower while top end versions will get a 2.2l diesel and a 2.0l turbo petrol with automatic options in both. 4x4 would be available in both the 2.0 petrol and the 2.2 l diesel. We will get to know pricing by 15th august and we can expect it to be more than the Scorpio N on which it is based on.
