New Delhi: Diljit Dosanjh, a popular Punjabi singer and actor who captivates audiences with his music and performances, has lately been embroiled in controversy. Diljit Dosanjh and his crew were accused by choreographer Rajat Batta of failing to pay the dancers who participated in the Dil Luminati tour.

Choreographer Rajat Batta of Los Angeles took to social media to air his grievances, claiming that the Dil Luminati tour dancers were exploited and paid too little. He said that on Diljit's Dil-Luminati Tour, all of the Desi dancers were expected to perform for free and were not paid.

Rajat Batta went on to say how important Desi dancers are to the business. Whether it's choreography, stage performances, music videos, reels, or even song promotion, the industry of Desi Dance has become an essential component of artists' lives and the business as a whole. He wrote, "It's really disappointing to see an artist of this calibre cut corners by stepping on throats of Desi Dancer industry and continue to attribute to that culture.”

Diljit Dosanjh’s Team Replies to Non-Payment Accusation

Diljit Dosanjh's Bhangra crew wasted no time responding to the claims with an Instagram post. The post not only denies the non-payment claims but also emphasises that the devotion to Bhangra and cultural heritage is driven by a deep reverence for our forefathers.

The team wrote, “While we appreciate the concern, we do not wish to be represented by the voices who don’t understand our relationship, our motivations, sacrifices, and the immense value we place on such experiences."
