Hyundai has sold over 1,000 units of the Ioniq 5 electric car and delivered the 1100th unit to Shah Rukh Khan. Earlier, at the 2023 Auto Expo. The Bollywood actor had launched the car and continued his 25-year association with Hyundai as its brand ambassador. The Ioniq 5 comes for Rs 45.9 lakh and has a 72.6kWh battery pack with an ARAI range of 631 km per charge. In India, the Ioniq 5 comes with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive specification that develops 217 bhp and 350 Nm of torque.




Additionally, you can fast-charge the car in only 18 minutes. The Ioniq 5 also features sustainable materials and a modular interior, including a movable centre console, creating a futuristic cabin. In India, the Ioniq 5 is also assembled, reducing its price compared to other EVs available within the premium space.

Hyundai plans to localise the e-GMP platform and launch its first mass-market EV by 2025, focusing on electric cars. The Ioniq 5 is the second electric SUV offered in India after the electric Kona, featuring a radical design language and a purpose-built electric platform that maximises space and packaging. Additionally, it is the first Hyundai to feature an interior made from eco-friendly materials, sustainable leather, recycled plastic, and more. Similar to other premium EVs, the Ioniq 5 also includes a V2L function, enabling the car to charge other devices.
