Arsenal end the Premier League week two points clear at the top. While they were up against Wolverhampton Wanderers FC (Wolves) on December 2 (Saturday), they registered a 2-1 win at the Emirates Stadium. Bukayo Saka scored a sixth minute goal for the Gunners to put them in the lead before Martin Odegaard's 13th minute goal doubled the lead. Late in the second half, Wolves managed to take a goal back with Matheus Cunha finding the back of the net in the 86th minute.

However, misery continued for Manchester United and this time around it was Newcastle United who inflicted further misery upon them by beating the Red Devils 1-0. Anthony Gordon's 55th minute strike proved to be the difference the two teams at the St. James' Park. Newcastle will be at the sixth place at the end of the week with 26 points from 14 matches.

Enzo Fernandez's first two Premier League goals earned 10-man Chelsea a first league win over Brighton & Hove Albion in six attempts, beating the Seagulls 3-2 in a pulsating contest at Stamford Bridge. A first home win since August moved Chelsea up to 10th place on 19 points, three behind eighth-placed Brighton.
