Hyundai will most probably not show the new Verna at the Auto Expo as instead it will focus on the EVs including launching the Ioniq 5 and also showcasing the Ioniq 6 at the Auto Expo. The Ioniq 5 would be launched here after it was showcased recently and the Ioniq 6 would be shown to gauge interest.

The Ioniq range of EVs are based on the E-GMP platform which is dedicated to EVs. While the 5 is an SUV, the Ioniq 6 is a premium four door-coupe with a long wheelbase. The design is very unique and gets the latest design language of the Parametric Pixels while the design is influenced by aerodynamics with a low drag coefficient of 0.22.

The Ioniq 6 has a flat floor and the Ioniq 5 gets a 12.3-inch full-touch infotainment display and 12.3-inch digital cluster. In a rather unique design touch, the front doors have no buttons too while the four-dot Interactive Pixel Lights on the steering wheel light up when the voice recognition is turned on and show the charging status.

The Ioniq 6 has a 77.4 kWh battery pack with two electric motor layouts along with all-wheel-drive. The range on offer is 550kms claimed and if this comes to India, it will be more premium and would be placed above the Ioniq 5. At the Auto Expo, we will also get to know the pricing of the Ioniq 5 which would be the first Hyundai E-GMP product for India.

Hyundai might also show a concept SUV which it will launch later and it would be placed below the Venue. Hence, the focus at the 2023 Auto Expo is on the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 with electric mobility being a theme for Hyundai.
