A family member of the 20-year-old girl, who was killed after her scooter was hit by a car and was being dragged by it for a few kilometres, said that the family does not trust the investigation carried out by Delhi Police.

He alleged that the fateful incident was not an accident and raised suspicion of wrongdoing with the deceased.

The incident was reported in the national capital’s Kanjhawala area in Sultanpuri on Sunday.

Speaking to ANI, the deceased mother said, "I had a conversation with her at around 9pm, she said she'll return by 3-4am. She used to work as event planner for weddings. In morning,I got a call from police & was informed about the accident. I was taken to police station & was made to wait."

She further alleged that the men had sexually assaulted her before killing her.

Denying the claims of an accident, she said, "When my brother arrived at PS, he was told about death of my daughter. My brother told me about it. My daughter was only person earning in our family. She was wearing so many clothes but not single piece of cloth was there on her body, what kind of accident was it."

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena expressed his anger over the incident and said that he was shocked at the “monstrous insensitivity of the perpetrators.”

"My head hangs in shame over the inhuman crime in Kanjhawala-Sultanpuri today morning and I am shocked at the monstrous insensitivity of the perpetrators.Have been monitoring with the Commissioner of Police, Delhi and the accused have been apprehended. All aspects are being thoroughly looked into,” the LG tweeted.

“Even as every possible support/help and beyond, to the family of the victim will be ensured, I appeal to all to not resort to opportunistic scavenging. Let's together work towards a more responsible and sensitive society,” he added.
