Vishwakarma Puja 2024: Vishwakarma puja is celebrated every year in the month of Bhadrapad and lies mostly on 16th or 17th September. According to Hindi mythology, Lord Vishwakarma is the 7th son of Lord Brahma, who had helped Lord Brahma in making the universe. It is believed that before the creation of the world, craftsmen and engineers were born.

According to the Hindu scriptures, this festival is observed on the date when the sun enters the Virgo zodiac sign. On this auspicious day, engineering institutions, factories, workshops, and labour groups perform rituals to worship machines, weapons, and tools to honour Lord Vishwakarma.

Vishwakarma Puja Date 2024:

In this year, Kanya Sankranti falls on September 16th, so Vishwakarma Jayanti or Vishwakarma Puja will also be observed on this day.

Vishwakarma Puja Auspicious Timing:

The auspicious time for the puja will be from sunrise until 11:42 AM. Performing the worship of Lord Vishwakarma during the Abhijit Muhurat (from 11:51 AM to 12:40 PM) is also considered auspicious.

Vishwakarma Puja Vidhi:

  • To begin the Vishwakarma Puja, first offer flowers, sandalwood paste, roli (red sacred powder), and akshat (unbroken rice) to the idol or picture of Lord Vishwakarma.
  • Light incense and a lamp, and meditate on the Lord while offering sweets and fruits.
  • Following this, you can recite the Vishwakarma Chalisa, perform the aarti, and read other hymns.
  • Distribute the prasad among family members and pray to the Lord for success and prosperity in your work.

Significance Of Vishwakarma Puja

On Vishwakarma Jayanti, performing rituals and worshipping Lord Vishwakarma in the proper manner is believed to fulfil all the desires of devotees. It is also said to bring progress and success in business. It is believed that those involved in technical fields who annually worship Lord Vishwakarma along with their tools and weapons on this day do not face any obstacles in working smoothly with their tools and equipment throughout the year.
