Diwali 2023: Choti And Badi Diwali On The Same Day- Know The Benefits

This year, a similar occurrence is taking place, leading to the celebration of Narak Chaturdashi or Choti Diwali and Badi Diwali together.

Narak Chaturdashi 2023, Diwali: This year, Narak Chaturdashi will not be celebrated on the day after Dhanteras, but on the same day as Diwali, which falls on November 12. In Hinduism, all festivals are celebrated according to the Panchang, based on lunar calculations, rather than the solar calendar used by the English.

As per the Panchang, the duration of tithis varies, sometimes lasting for 24 hours or more. This year, a similar occurrence is taking place, leading to the celebration of Narak Chaturdashi or Choti Diwali and Badi Diwali together.

Narak Chaturdashi-Diwali on the Same Day (Narak Chaturdashi and Diwali 2023 Muhurat):

Chaturdashi on November 11 will start at 1:58 PM and continue until 2:45 PM the next day. Therefore, the day of Narak Chaturdashi or Choti Diwali falls on the sunrise date of November 12. Following this, Amavasya begins at 2:45 PM on the same day, lasting until 2:57 PM on November 13. Due to the Amavasya on the next day, there will be no Govardhan Puja. Consequently, Diwali will be celebrated on November 12.

As a result, Annakut after Diwali will be observed a day later on November 14, followed by Bhai Dooj on November 15.

Diwali Auspicious Yogas after 500 Years (Diwali 2023 Auspicious Yoga):

On Diwali, Shani Dev in Aquarius, forming Shasha Yoga with Mars and Sun, creates a Rajayoga. Additionally, Ayushman Yoga and Budhaditya Rajayoga in Libra bring blessings to several zodiac signs. Aries, Gemini, and Capricorn individuals will particularly benefit from these yogas.

Meanwhile, Taurus, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Aquarius, and Pisces individuals can expect success in their careers and financial gains, bringing happiness to their homes. Businesspeople will benefit from their investments.

Narak Chaturdashi (Narak Chaturdashi):

On this day, in the Dvapara Yuga, Lord Shri Krishna vanquished the tyrant Narakasura, liberating the world from injustice and terror. In celebration of this victory, the festival is observed, also known as Choti Diwali alongside Narak Chaturdashi. Devotees perform puja and worship Lord Shri Krishna on this day.

Significance of Abhyang Snan on Narak Chaturdashi (Narak Chaturdashi Snan Importance):

It is believed that a bath, massage with sesame oil before sunrise on this day makes the body pure and enhances beauty. The dryness of the body disappears, and a glow is added to the appearance. Bathing after sunrise, performing puja, and special worship during the evening, along with lighting lamps, are recommended.

Significance of Deepdan on Narak Chaturdashi (Narak Chaturdashi Deepdaan Significance):

Legend has it that lighting lamps on this day prevents one from going to hell. Bathing before sunrise with oil applied to the body is essential. It is said that those who do not perform bathing and other rituals after sunrise on this day face poverty and misery throughout the year, with their auspicious activities getting spoiled and an increase in sorrows.

Puja Vidhi for Narak Chaturdashi (Narak Chaturdashi Puja Vidhi):

On this special day, create a swastika symbol on both sides of your main door using kumkum, and light a lamp with mustard oil. Add a bit of vermilion to the lamp, then take a plate and create an eight-petal symbol using ashtagandha. Place 14 lamps with mustard oil in it.

Add a little nagkesar to the lamps and take them near a peepal tree, light them, and perform 14 circumambulations. After circumambulation, chant the mantra "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya" 11 times and return home. In the temple, join your hands and meditate on your ancestors, family deity, and Goddess Mahalakshmi, seeking their blessings. Positive changes are sure to occur in your life.
