WATCH: TDP Workers, Gathered To Welcome Chandrababu Naidu, Lathi-Charged In Chittoor. Woman Injured

The police also shifted the campaign vehicle and the other vehicle carrying the sound system to the police station.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu slammed Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy after police used brute force to disperse TDP supporters who were about to welcome the Party chief in the Chittoor district. The meet was held even after police refused permission since the state government issued an order prohibiting public meetings on roads across the state.

The police also shifted the campaign vehicle and the other vehicles carrying the sound system to the police station. In a video shared by the news agency ANI, the police were seen clashing with the TDP workers, using batons on them. As per reports, the Mandal party woman president was injured in the incident.

While stating that he has been the MLA from Kuppam for the past seven terms and It's his home, he questioned, "How can anyone prevent me from going to my own house?"

Naidu said that he had written to the Director General of Police a few days ago mentioning his Kuppam tour. He pointed out that the ruling YSRCP government brought in GO No 1 on January 2, imposing restrictions on the parties not to organise any road shows. Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu felt that this indicates that the meetings should be held only with the generosity of the ruling party.

He said that because of the huge response from the people to the Telugu Desam Party's public meetings, Jagan was afraid of losing the next election. Chandrababu predicted that Jagan's era would end soon.

Earlier, hundreds of policemen were deployed as curbs were imposed on Naidu's visit. This came a day after the state government issued an order prohibiting public meetings on roads. The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government took the step in the wake of the December 28 stampede at Kandukur during Naidu's roadshow, which claimed eight lives.
