Andhra Pradesh: Youth Sentenced To Death By Guntur Court For Killing Girl For Rejecting Advances

Hyderabad: A Guntur District special court in Andhra Pradesh on Friday sentenced a youth for murdering an engineering student for rejecting his advances. The court pronounced the verdict, sentencing 20-year-old K. Sasi Krishna to death.

The third-year-student of B. Tech, was brutally killed by Krishna, who had come in touch with her over a social media platform.Krishna has started stalking her and demanding her love. He became upset and threatened to kill her because she kept her distance from him.

On Independence Day last year, the accused stabbed B. Tech student eight times when she came out of her house to fetch breakfast in the morning. She died on the way to the Government Hospital.

The act, which was captured on camera, sparked widespread indignation, prompting the state government to establish a special court to expedite the case's resolution.

Krishna managed to flee the site after the murder. With the use of the incident's CCTV footage, police were able to identify the assailant. He attempted suicide by slashing his hand when the cops tracked him down and sought to arrest him.Police, however, foiled his attempt.

The girl's parents praised the judgment, saying it provided them with closure. They claimed that people who commit such horrible crimes  deserve the death punishment. They stated that what happened to their daughter should not be repeated.
