Andhra Pradesh: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Lays Foundation Stone Of 8 Highway Projects Worth Rs 3000 Crore
According to a release issued by the ministry, the development works include the construction of five flyover bridges and three roads.
New Delhi: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Thursday laid the foundation stones for eight National Highway projects worth Rs. 3,000 crores in Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh.
According to a release issued by the ministry, the development works include the construction of five flyover bridges and three roads.

The minister stated that five flyovers are being built as part of the road projects at Kaikaram, Morampudi, Undarajavaram, Tetali, and Jonnada. He said that once the projects are completed, it will be easy and safe for people to commute between Namavaram, Satellite City, Mandapeta, Ramchandrapuram, Kakinada, Undarajavaram, Nidadavolu, Tanuku Town, and Kaikaram.

Gadkari said that the other three projects include four-laning of Vakalapudi-Uppada-Annavaram & Samarlakota-Achampeta Junction, and the construction of two-lane with paved shoulders from Rampachodavaram to Koyyuru, will provide road connectivity to religious locations such as Samarlakota, Annavaram Bikkavolu, Ryali & Pithapuram.
He further said that after the projects are completed, they will offer green field road connectivity to the Kakinada SEZ, SEZ Port, Fishing Harbour, and Kakinada Anchorage Port, which will facilitate the export of rice, sea food, oil meals, iron-ore, biofuel, granite through Kakinada Port.
The completion of the project would provide road connectivity to tribal areas such as Araku and Lambasinghi and important tourist destinations of Andhra Pradesh such as Araku Valley and Caves.
