Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Reddy Disburses First Tranche Of 'Vidya Deevena' Scheme Today
The chief minister released around 694 crores into mothers' bank accounts of 11.02 lakh students.
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy disburses the first quarter installment of Jagananna Vidya Deevena at a program in Bapatla on Thursday. The state has been releasing the fee reimbursement dues under the 'Jagananna Vidya Deevena' scheme at the end of each quarter of the financial year. The chief minister released around Rs 694 crores into mothers' bank accounts of Rs 11.02 lakh students.
On this occasion, CM Jagan said that when students have a proper education, their lives will change and that money shouldn't impede learning. He said that poverty could be overcome only through education. The government is doing what is necessary for all the children to live happily and confidently in the face of competition in the coming period.

CM Jagan said, "We had provided Rs 11,715 crores under the 'Jagananna Vidya Deevena' and 'Jagananna Vasathi Deevena' Scheme. We have spent Rs 53,000 crores in three years on the education sector through schemes like 'Amma Vodi', 'YSR Sampoorna Poshana', 'Jagananna Gorumudda', 'Jagananna Vidya Kanuka', 'Vidya Deevena', 'Manabadi Nadu-Nedu'. YSRCP government have paid the dues of the previous government. We have tied up with Microsoft for training children in government schools."
CM Jagan said that the government goal is to increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) to 70 per cent by 2035. There is an increase of 8.64 per cent in 2019-20 compared to 2018-19. CM Jagan said that the GER ratio for female children in the state is 11.04 per cent when compared to India's 2.28 per cent.
