Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Meeting Concludes With Scores Of New Approvals; Here Is All You Need To Know
The AP cabinet meeting helmed by CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy approved educational reforms to develop educational infrastructure
Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh cabinet helmed by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday approved educational reforms, compensation for the Agrigold scam victims, and an additional Rs 10 lakh packages for the families displaced due to the Polvaram project.
"The cabinet approved proposals for transforming educational infrastructure and to bring in comprehensive academic and administrative reforms," said Information and Public Relations Minister, Perni Venkatramaiah. The 'Nadu Nedu' phase 1 programme is dedicated to the nation and the launch of phase 2 of the programme has been scheduled for August 16.

Here are the other crucial decisions been taken by the YS Jagan government in the cabinet meeting:
- In view of the scarcity of space for government buildings such as village secretariats, farmer assurance centers, refrigeration centers, Anganwadi centers etc. being constructed in the villages, private land should be pooled in. Approved to give government land elsewhere instead.
- Approval to move the Lokayukta office in Hyderabad to Kurnool. Approval for sanction of posts of Lokayukta, Deputy Lokayukta, Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Director, two Assistant Registrars, etc. A decision was taken to move the state human rights office to Kurnool.
- Machilipatnam, Srikakulam district approval for revised DPR of Bhavanapadu Ports. The target is to build Machilipatnam port in 36 months at a cost of Rs 5,155.73 crore and Bhavanapadu Phase-1 to be completed in 30 months at a cost of Rs 4,361.9 crore.
- Approval for DPRs for fishing harbours at Budagatlapalem in Srikakulam district, Pudimadaka in Visakhapatnam district, Kottapatnam in Prakasam district and Biyyaputhippa in West Godavari district at a cost of Rs 1,720.61 crore.
- Approval to classify Anganwadi Centers and schools into 6 different types.
- Approval for Clean Andhra Pradesh program (CLAP). Part of this is garbage collection from 40 lakh households in 124 municipalities. 100 days programs in rural and urban areas to be taken forward under 'Jagannanna Swachha Sankalpam'.
- Approval for distribution of compensation of Rs 500 crore on August 24 to 4 lakh Agrigold depositors, who have deposited less than Rs 20,000.
- Pending applications for pensions and other welfare schemes are reviewed and sanctioned for a period of three months.
- Budget allocation of Rs 199 crore for 'YSR Nethanna Nestham' and Assistance on August 10.
- APIIC, APMB approves 50 per cent to 74 per cent increase in shares.
- Approval of administrative permits for the construction of fishing harbours.
- Cabinet approves Techno-Economic Feasibility Study Report for construction of an airport at Nellore District Dagadarti.
- Cabinet approves formation of Charitable Council Executive Committee.
- Approval for an additional Rs 10 lakh package for Polavaram project expatriates. For this, about Rs. 550 crore has been allotted.
- Cabinet approves YSR Lifetime Achievement Awards on 13th of this month.
- Cabinet approves sanction of Director post in Village and Ward Secretariats.
- To increase the livestock in the state, Andhra Pradesh State Breeding Policy was approved for 2021.
- Cabinet approves proposal to increase fisheries products in the state.
- Approval for an increase in seed production policy proposals at Farmer Assurance Centers.
- Cabinet approved setting up of Rajahmundry Urban Development Corporation.
