7 Killed After Bus Falls Into Canal In Andhra's Prakasam
During the initial investigation, police said it learned that the passengers had rented the bus to attend a wedding ceremony in Kakinada city, Andhra Pradesh.
Seven people, including a seven-year-old child, lost their lives, and over 15 people were injured when the bus they were traveling in fell into a water canal near Darsi in Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district. The accident occurred around midnight while the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation Bus was en route from Kakinada.
As soon as the authorities received the information, the police arrived at the scene and initiated a rescue operation. The injured individuals were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Darsi Sub Inspector Ramakrishna confirmed the deaths of seven people in the bus accident. "More than 15 were severely injured and they are undergoing treatment at Darsi and Ongole hospitals . Let us hope there are no more casaulities," the official said as quoted by ANI.
"The cause of incident is yet to be ascertained and rescue operations are underway,' he added.

Earlier, a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus carrying over 40 passengers had a narrow escape when it caught fire near Pedda Amberpet, close to the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Hyderabad. No injuries were reported as all the passengers had already disembarked before the fire spread.
The bus, which was en route from Hyderabad to Guntur, was carrying 45 passengers at the time of the incident. A vigilant passenger noticed smoke emanating from the bus and promptly alerted the driver. Acting swiftly, the driver informed all the passengers and evacuated the bus.
A fire engine quickly arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. The bus got partially burnt in the incident.
