Trump, Sanders lock horns on Twitter over health care plan
Washington D.C. [U.S.A.] Sept 15, (ANI): United States President Donald Trump and Senator Bernie Sanders locked horns on Twitter over health care plan.
Donald termed Sanders' health care plan as a curse on Americans and vowed to veto Sanders' bill to create a government-run healthcare system if it passed the House and Senate.
Sanders accused Trump of throwing 23 million off health insurance and termed it as a curse and vowed not to let Trump get away with it.
"Bernie Sanders is pushing hard for a single payer healthcare plan - a curse on the U.S. & its people... (sic)," Trump tweeted.
In another tweet, Trump said, "...I told Republicans to approve healthcare fast or this would happen. But don't worry, I will veto because I love our country & its people."
Trump has continued to push to repeal and replace Obamacare.
In a tweet following Trump's tweet, Sanders slammed the idea that single-payer healthcare is a curse.
"No Mr. President, providing health care to every man, woman and child as a right is not a curse, it's exactly what we should be doing," Sanders tweeted.
He also accused Trump of throwing 23 million off health insurance and termed it as a curse.
"What is a curse is your support for throwing 23 million off health insurance. That's the curse and we won't allow you to get away with it," Sanders tweeted.
Sanders introduced this week his Medicare for All legislation, which drew support from a number of liberals, including high-profile 2020 contenders. (ANI)
