Saudi-led coalition airstrikes kill 15 Houthis in Yemen
Ankara [Turkey], Dec 18 (ANI): At least 15 Houthi rebels were killed in airstrikes conducted by the Saudi-led forces in western Yemen.
According to the Anadolu Agency, the medical sources confirming the incident said that several rebels were also injured in the attacks, which targeted Houthi positions south of Hodeidah province.
"Hospitals are full to bursting with scores of injured Houthis, who came from southern districts where fighting is flaring on," the insider said.
Strong explosion were also heard in the area, suggesting that the airstrikes targeted their weapon depots, the source added.
Earlier, before killing Saleh, Houthi rebels reportedly blew up his residence in Yemen.
Also, the Iranian embassy in Yemen was set ablaze after a mortar shell struck amid the rebel fighting.
Both Saleh forces and the Houthi rebels are battling to capture the capital city. The loyalists of Saleh last week had proposed for the talks with the Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis to end the three-year conflict in Yemen.
The fighting has claimed more than 10,000 lives since then. The United Nations has described the Yemen conflict as the world's worst humanitarian crisis. (ANI)
