12 killed, including 8 Americans in Mexico tour bus crash

Mexico City [Mexico], Dec 20 (ANI): About 12 people were killed, including eight Americans, while several were injured when a tourist bus crashed in Mexico on Wednesday.

Two of those killed in the attack were Swedes, while one was Canadian and one was Mexican, the local media quoted tourism ministry of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, as saying.

The United States State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert in a statement said, "We can confirm the deaths of multiple US citizens in [the] Mexico bus accident, and several injuries."

Nauert added that the State Department has staff on scene to assist and will continue to monitor the situation.
