Rahul Gandhi's Manipur Diaries

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived at Imphal airport in violence-hit Manipur on Thursday for his two-day visit.

However, Gandhi’s convoy was stopped by police in Bishnupur when he was on way to Churachandpur to visit relief camps.

Police said they halted his convoy fearing attacks on Gandhi, who then took a chopper to his destination.

The blockade prompted Congress supporters to stage a protest, which gradually escalated to a scuffle.

In Churachandpur, Gandhi visited the relief camps set up at a school and college and even shared lunch with children.

He also interacted with representatives from civil society groups in Churachandpur.

On Friday, Gandhi visited a relief camp in Moirang, where he interacted with children affected by violence.

Gandhi was seen consoling a woman when he met violence-affected families at Ideal Girls College relief camp

Gandhi also paid floral tributes to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at the INA martyr's complex in Moirang
