Twarit: Ground Report: All you want to know about Raebareli train accident
Nine coaches of Farakka Express train derailed in 50 meters from Harchandpur railway station on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at 6 am in the morning when the train number 14003 derailed. As per initial reports, seven people have been killed and 42 people injured in the accident. All up and down lines on the route have been blocked and officials suspect that the number of casualties may rise.
It is said that NDRF teams from Varanasi and Lucknow have reached the spot.
The cause of the yet not known and an Anti-Terrorist Squad has also been dispatched to the spot.
In the matter, CM Yogi Adityanath has taken cognisance of the Railway Accident of Farakka Express at Harchandpur Raebareily. He directed the DM SP the health authorities and NDRF to provide all possible relief and rescue at the site. He also announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for the deceased and Rs 50000 for the seriously injured.
It also reported that Chairman Railway Board Ashwani Lohani on way to the accident site.
PRO railway Deepak Kumar told that the train was coming from Malda to Delhi. He also said that those injured will be assisted first and then the coaches will be removed from the tracks.
