Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra on Saturday put to rest the speculation over her contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha polls from Rae Bareli. She said that her mother Sonia Gandhi would again be in a contest from the Parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

Rae Bareli is currently represented in the Lok Sabha by outgoing Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who passed part leadership post to her son Rahul Gandhi.

There is a speculation in the media over Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra assuming an active role in politics since Sonia Gandhi indicated her "retirement" on Friday.
