Nirav Modi comes from a very humble background. His family hails from Gujarat's Palanpur and his grandparents used to sell wafers as per some sources. As per Nirav Modi, his grandfather went Belgium for the first time to sell diamonds. This incident took place 90 years ago. Post him, his son and Nirav's father Deepak Bhai became the biggest diamond supplier in Belgium.
