Uttarakhand Glacier Collapse: Eye witnesses narrate the incident | Sansani
In Joshimath, Uttarakhand, the Dhauliganga River was flooded due to the breaking of the glacier. The river joins Alaknanda and goes to Haridwar as the Ganges River. The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand has announced a compensation of four lakh rupees to the families of the deceased. In addition to the Rishi Ganga and Tapovan power projects, roads were washed away in Raini village, Lata village and Malari area.
