South Africa approves Serum Institute's Covishield for emergency use
South Africa has approved India's coronavirus vaccine Covishield developed by Serum Institute of India (SII) for emergency use. The Health Ministry of South Africa gave permission for the emergency use of Covishield.
The Serum Institute of India will deliver 15 lakh doses of the vaccine to South Africa in the coming days. Significantly, the Vaccination drive in India began on 16 January.
