Jawaharlal Nehru University's Vice Chancellor, Jagdish Kumar while talking to ABP News said the violence in campus is condemnable, but the incident of January 5 cannot be viewed in isolation, there is an entire agitation going on since October 28, which needs to be seen collectively. He said that some student leaders had forcefully entered and disturbed the hostel committee meeting, going on over new hostel charges. "We sent hostel wardens to talk to student and hostel presidents but that day also they gheraoed the wardens made them resign forcefully" he said.
