Delhi Election 2025: Voting on February 5, Results to be Declared on February 8

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the dates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, which will be held on February 5, 2025. The results for the 70 Assembly seats in Delhi will be declared on February 8. Along with the Delhi elections, bypolls for the Milkipur constituency in Uttar Pradesh will also take place on February 5. However, the election dates for the Budgam and Nagrota constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir remain unannounced.The ECI also revealed the final voter list for Delhi, which includes 1,55,24,858 registered voters, with 84,49,645 male voters and 71,73,952 female voters. As the Delhi Assembly’s term ends on February 15, 2025, preparations for the elections are underway in full swing.Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who previously contested and won from the New Delhi constituency, will run again, facing Congress's Sandeep Dikshit and BJP’s Pravesh Verma. Kejriwal has maintained a strong presence in this constituency. Additionally, Chief Minister Atishi will contest from the Kalkaji seat against Congress’s Alka Lamba and former BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri, making the race even more competitive. The announcement has set the stage for an intense political battle, especially with both Congress and BJP fielding prominent candidates for key constituencies.
