Wayanad Landslide: State Govt, Centre Join Hands To Escalate Rescue Ops, Says George Kurien | ABP News

Reacting to the Wayanad landslide, Minister of State for Minority Affairs George Kurien stated on July 30 that the Prime Minister has been actively involved in coordinating the rescue efforts. “Since early this morning, the PM has been closely monitoring the situation, taking stock of developments, and directing the NDRF and other forces to initiate immediate rescue operations. Forces from both within and outside Kerala have been mobilised, and the Air Force and Army are on their way. The area’s challenging terrain makes access difficult, requiring helicopters and additional support. The State Government has also sought assistance from the Centre, and the PM has spoken to the Kerala Chief Minister to ensure coordinated rescue efforts,” Kurien said.
