Wayanad Landslide: PM Modi Took Stock Of Wayanad Situation From Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan | ABP News
In Kerala's Wayanad district, heavy rains triggered a landslide early on July 30, with fears that hundreds may be trapped. The landslides occurred in Mepadi, Mundakkai Town, and Chooral Mala. Initial reports suggest that 12 people have died, but district administration has confirmed four deaths, including a child. Around 50 injured individuals have been hospitalized. The first landslide struck Mundakkai Town at about 1 AM during the heavy rain, and while rescue efforts were underway there, a second landslide hit near a school in Chooral Mala around 4 AM. The landslide filled nearby homes and shops with water and mud. Rescue operations are still ongoing.
