Four people opened fire on Mahant Samrat Das of Ramjanaki temple last night in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. As soon as the information was received about the incident, the police and others sent the injured Mahant to the district hospital for treatment.

The injured priest has been referred to Lucknow.
