On December 3, 1984, Bhopal gas leak took place which claimed 3787 lives. On the other hand, Visakhapatnam gas leak took place on early Thursday morning and claimed 8 lives. AP gas tragedy is the biggest one since Bhopal. Talking about it, NDRF DG SN Pradhan said, "Styrene gas has leaked in Andhra Pradesh and it could be the restart operation which led to the leak as the factory was opened up after lockdown"
Gas leak took place at Pharmaceutical company, LG Polymers, in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam. The area has now been vacated and nearly 3 km area near the chemical factory has been cordoned off as well. More than 100 people are admitted in the hospital
